🌌 The Main Event: Welcome to Nullscape
The End is no longer the barren void you remember. Nullscape will make you feel tiny and alone in the vast expanse. You against the void - nothing more than that.
Nullscape boosts the End's height to 384 blocks and makes full use of 1.18's modern features to generate incredibly varied terrain. You'll find everything from shattered islands, to floating valleys, to crystallized peaks!
Different regions of the End—on very large scales—have different properties and feelings to allow for almost infinite variation in terrain shapes. From sponge-like porous terrain, to stretched alien landscapes, to stacked rounded islands; you'll find new and interesting terrain no matter how far you go.
✨ Gameplay & Quality of Life Improvements
We've added a huge list of features to make your daily life on the server smoother and more convenient.
-
Homing Experience Orbs: Killed a ghast from a far distance? Those orbs will come straight back to you instead of falling into lava.
-
Extra Loyal Tridents: If your Loyalty trident inevitably falls into the void, it'll no longer meet its end. Instead, it will bounce right back to you.
-
Totem Works In Void: Falling into the void with a totem in your hand or off-hand will enter you into a controllable float mode (Levitation) until you reach land.
-
Better Lodestones: Lodestones have new functions!
-
Drop a named paper on a lodestone to name it.
-
Dropping an ender pearl on a lodestone creates an instant waypoint. You can teleport back to it with another pearl within a 96-block range.
-
-
Recovery Coordinates: The recovery compass will now show the exact coordinates and dimension where you last died.
-
Drop Ladder: Need to get down a big drop? Press sneak (crouch) while on a ladder to extend its length downwards, creating hanging ladders.
-
Crops XP: Breaking crops like wheat, pumpkins, and nether wart now has a chance of granting you a bit of experience.
-
Echo Shard Silence: Drop an echo shard on top of a mob to silence it. Get the shard back by killing the mob or placing water on it.
-
Path Sprinting: As an incentive to build infrastructure, walking or running on path blocks now gives you a speed boost.
-
Readable Clocks: Hold a clock to see the current time and day number. You can also place it in an item frame to see the time at a glance.
-
Stands and Frames Invisibility: Throw a splash potion of invisibility on an armor stand or item frame to make it invisible. Use a splash water bottle to make it reappear.
-
Griefing Gamerules: We now have a settings menu to toggle anti-grief measures, such as enabling or disabling TNT.
⚔️ Combat & Mob Updates
Prepare for new challenges and rewards with these mob and combat tweaks.
-
Mob Health Display: The health of a mob you are looking at will now display discreetly above your hotbar.
-
Improved Baby Zombies: Baby zombies have been nerfed! Their health is halved, and a critical hit with a diamond or netherite sword will one-shot them. However, they can now sometimes sprint jump!
-
Wither Head Drop: Upon defeating the Wither, it will now drop its head as a trophy of your victory.
-
Trimmed Armored Piglins: Armored piglins now have a chance of spawning with their armor pieces trimmed (about 8% normally, and 16% in Bastion Remnants).
🎨 Immersion & Cosmetic Features
These features are designed to make the world feel more alive, satisfying, and personal.
-
Player Sitting: Sit anywhere! Simply look straight down, crouch, and right-click with an empty hand.
-
Better Armor Stands: Armor stands now have arms and a bunch of different poses! Power a lever near them to swap their pose. You can also add an item and right-click with a tripwire hook to turn it into a wall-mounted tool rack.
-
Daycounter: The server now counts the days! The day number is displayed when you first join and at the start of each new day. On milestone days (like Day 100, 200, etc.), a special animation will play.
-
Time Offset: To make more sense, the server now starts on Day 1 instead of Day 0. (Note: +1 day will be added to all existing worlds).
-
Craft Sounds: Crafting items now plays a satisfying woody sound and a light particle animation. The sound can vary depending on what you craft (like tools) or if you craft multiple items. Special items like beacons have unique sounds!
-
Improved Player Animations: Enjoy new animations for leveling up and for splashing into water from different heights.
-
Improved Block Animations: Blocks including Enchanting Tables, Brewing Stands, Beacons, Wither Skeleton Skulls, Dragon Eggs, and Jukeboxes now have improved animations. Place a note block under a Jukebox to enhance its animation even more!
-
Jukebox Music Override: Playing a music disc will now stop and override the default Minecraft game music for all nearby players.
-
Improved/Local Death Sound: Upon death, an improved sound effect related to how you died will play, making your death a little more dramatic.
-
Player Head Drop: Upon death, your player head will drop. Place it anywhere as a cute display of your misfortune.
-
Equipable Banners: To equip a banner, hold it and triple-click your sneak key. (Your head slot must be empty).
-
Subtitles on Major Events: Major events like summoning the Wither or entering the End will display a dramatic title on your screen.
-
Subtitles on Biome Discovery: When you find a new biome, its name will be displayed as a title.
-
Global Death Sound Effects: A sound effect will play globally to all players when you die.
-
Spectator Ghost: Players in spectator mode will now be visible to non-spectators via a white particle effect.
-
Low Health Sound: If you take damage at low health, a heartbeat-like amethyst sound will play.
-
Party Cake: Make your cakes more surprising! Drop a firework on a cake to make it explode with harmless confetti when eaten.
We can't wait to see what you build in the new Nullscape and how you use all these new features. See you online!
